Amy W. Wagner, Ph.D.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington state (#2491) and Oregon (#2538), and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University. I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist, supervisor/teacher and researcher, with expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, evidence-based treatments for PTSD including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, and cognitive-behavior therapy in general.
I love teaching and have supervised graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and established professionals throughout my career. I have taught numerous professional workshops (primarily related to DBT), nationally and internationally. My research has focused on treatment development and evaluation, most recently evaluating an adaptation of behavioral activation therapy for PTSD.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma-related problems (like relationship problems, difficulties regulating emotions), and life-adjustment issues (life transitions, aging, loneliness, caregiving, etc.).
I provide Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), an evidence-based treatment for couples that integrates the principles of acceptance and change.
I provide professional consultation to therapists seeking to improve their skills and/or pursue therapy certification.
